“We learn to love ourselves precisely because we have experienced being loved by someone. We learn to take care of ourselves because somebody has taken care of us.”

Jane Scurfield
BA, BSW, MSW, RSW

I have been a social worker for 15 years and my dream of being a therapist started when I was in high school.

I remember listening to friends without judgement, and with a deep interest, and thinking “this is what I want to do one day, somehow”.

I have always loved people, and I would say with certainty that people and their stories are my passion. I have also always loved love! I am fascinated by our need to find each other and connect. I believe deeply that we are pack animals, and that we thrive within the safety that our connection to each other brings.

Lastly, I believe in therapy- there is so much power in being heard, validated and seen. This is healing, and I feel lucky to be doing this work, truly my dream come true!

I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and I obtained my Masters of Social Work. I also prioritize keeping up-to-date with current training and research relevant to my work.

My Approach

  • Couples Therapy

Nothing compares to the energy in the room when I am working with a couple. I am an eternal optimist when it comes to relationships.

I think we are so driven to care for one another, but so many of us were not given a great map on how to do so. When our romantic relationships are causing us to suffer, it affects every part of our lives.

  • Sex Therapy

I believe that everyone has a right to a satisfying intimate life, pleasure, and a healthy sexual relationship.

My goal is to create a supportive atmosphere that is sex positive and judgment free. I would love to see a future where sex is more openly discussed without shame or discomfort.

  • Individual Therapy

If you have not tried therapy,
    run, don’t walk!

See it as an hour of self care and reflection, to feel cared for and heard.

When I work with individuals, I am mostly helping with boundaries, navigating relationships, letting go/grief, and how to manage triggers.
